About the Foundation
Since opening its doors 40 years ago, Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) has grown through strong partnerships with individual donors, businesses, and foundations—both in New Mexico and across the nation. United by SFCC’s mission to “Empower Students, Strengthen Community,” these supporters have played a vital role in the college’s journey.
To further this mission, the SFCC Foundation was established in 1984 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the college and its students. We collaborate closely with campus leadership, faculty, and student groups to identify the most meaningful ways for donors to help students achieve their academic and career goals.

We help donors provide scholarship support because:
More than 70% of SFCC students are the first in their families to attend college—juggling jobs, family responsibilities, and demanding coursework. Our financial support helps ease that burden by covering tuition, lab fees, emergency assistance, childcare, food, and transportation. This support often makes a critical difference, empowering students to stay on track and graduate on time.

At SFCC, academic programs blend classroom instruction with hands-on learning, providing cutting-edge training alongside real-world experience through student internships that prepare students for in-demand careers. Thanks to generous donor support, programs like Controlled Environment Agriculture, Welding, and Automotive Technologies (to name just a few) equip students with the skills they need to succeed—while helping build a strong, sustainable workforce for Northern New Mexico’s future.
