April Newsletter

Spring semester is flying by, which means graduation is around the corner. Graduation is a time to spotlight our students’ hard work and success as they wrap up their time at the Santa Fe Community College and move on to the next chapter in their lives. It is also a time for us at the Santa Fe Community College Foundation to reflect on our donors’ power to help those students reach their goals. One of the biggest hurdles our students face is financial constraints, which often impedes their studies and higher education progress. As graduation draws near, we would like to share some inspiring student stories highlighting your donations’ impact.

“This past month I lost my job and I am spending my savings on my regular monthly living expenses as well as textbooks, software, uniforms, tools, and other necessities for my Culinary classes at SFCC. I am aggressively looking for a job. I have applied for many jobs and hope to be employed soon. In the meantime, my financial problems are making it difficult for me to pay my rent and cover transportation costs to go to SFCC for my ESL and culinary arts classes.”– A SFCC student’s ask for The Student Emergency Assistance Fund
